Flamenco Guitar

Flamenco is the music and dance of the gypsies, uniquely Spanish in character. It is an art form that has the guitar at its center. Traditional Flamenco makes use of an intricate set of strumming techniques (rasgeado), percussion devices (golpe), rythym and song forms. Modern Flamenco, by artists such as Ottmar Liebert and Jesse Cook, bulids on these traditional techniques, and also incorporates Jazz improvisation. With his extensive experience with the Nuevo Flamenco group, The Peter Pupping Quartet (visit www.guitarsounds.com for more information), William offers students a solid background in Traditional and Nuevo Flamenco.
